How I Said Goodbye to Vaping Throat Burn: A Personal Journey

As someone who’s; benefited immensely from the guidance and advice of veteran vaping enthusiasts online, I thought I’d pay it forward with my perspective on something that’s near and dear to many of us: vaping without that annoying throat burn. You may be thinking, “I’ve heard this before and it’s impossible,” but trust me, gone are the days of feeling like I’m inhaling fire every time I take a puff. So, how did I manage to tame the throat dragon? Let me take you on a little journey through my experience.

First off, let me just say that the transition from smoking to vaping was not a smooth one. Quite the opposite. Not only did it take me 4 separate attempts to quit, each one lasting between 10 to 20 days, but when I first started, I was clueless. I’d take a drag, and it felt like I’d swallowed a lit match. It was strange to me that the people who strongly recommended vaping to me in the first place forgot to mention that throat burn was part of the package. So, I set out on a mission to find out what was causing the burn and how I could kiss it goodbye for good.

After a bit of trial and error (okay, maybe more error than anything else), I stumbled upon a crucial piece of the puzzle: nicotine strength. If you think this is obvious, you’re wrong. When I was smoking regular cigarettes, and on occasion ran out of Marlboro Lights, I’d borrow from a colleague who smokes Reds, the mother of all harsh cigarettes, and had no issue with it.

To be honest, that was supposed to be one of the upsides of switching from cigarettes to vapes, that and wanting to live to see my son finish grade school. Spoiler alert: I was dead wrong. Some flavors were just too harsh for my poor throat to handle. So, I started experimenting with milder options, mostly fruity blends and it helped a ton.

Of course, I couldn’t ignore the elephant in the room: my sleek-looking Juul e-cigarette device itself (no judgments please, it was long ago). As much as I loved it, I had to face the fact that not all devices are created equal. After some research (and maybe a little online shopping spree), I upgraded to a device with adjustable airflow. And let me tell you, it was a game-changer. By tweaking the airflow settings, I found my sweet spot – smooth, satisfying vapor without the harsh kickback.

But perhaps the most surprising revelation in my quest for a burn-free vape experience was the importance of hydration. It turns out, staying hydrated isn’t just good for your overall health – it can also work wonders for your throat. So, I made a conscious effort to up my water intake, especially when I was vaping, and the burn became a distant memory.

So in a nutshell, that’s my journey from throat-burning agony to vaping nirvana. It wasn’t always easy, and there were certainly moments of frustration along the way. But with a little perseverance and some trial and error, I finally cracked the code. Now, I can puff away to my heart’s content, knowing that my throat is in for a smooth ride.
