I love everything about casino-resort experiences! They feature a whole host of fantastic casino games with world-class croupiers, but there is so much more to them too. The full casino-resort experience includes fine dining with meals prepared by celebrity chefs, amazing performances by some of the best acts in the world, pampering spa treatments and incredible shopping trips, with everything happening in opulent and luxurious settings and surroundings.
Before you set off, I do recommend brushing up on how slots and other games work, so that your wallet comes away as replete as you after some wonderful meals! My list of the world’s most stunning casino resorts is very long, but I’ve narrowed it down to my 5 favourites for you.
- Caesars Palace in Las Vegas
Caesars Palace is a 4-star icon in Las Vegas; a sprawling, elegant complex in the heart of the Strip. The casino-resort is just 14 miles from the Rio Secco Golf Club, and the luxury rooms offer wet bars, whirlpool tubs, flat-screen televisions, free Wi-Fi and many more amenities. You can choose from 22 different restaurants, including branches of Nobu, MR CHOW and Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen.
The plethora of things to do and explore includes a pampering spa, a wide range of high-end stores and a nightclub whose Friday guest star is Calvin Harris. Current headline acts include Elton John and Celine Dion, and if you can tear yourself away from all this the casino games will impress you too. A wide range of table games, slots, sportsbook options and Poker events are available to satisfy your gambling desires.
- Sun City in South Africa
Set in the beautiful land of South Africa, Sun City is a premium, 5-star destination. The high-end resort is on the edge of the Gary Player Country Club, and just 4 km from the southern entrance of the breath-taking Pilansberg National Park. Accommodations are set in a variety of different locations, all with beautiful views of the resort. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the poolside restaurant, and choose from Asian, South African and Indian restaurants for your other meals. Great shopping, spa, tennis, squash and water park experiences complement the 40 table games and hundreds of slot machines perfectly.
- The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas
The 5-star Venetian Las Vegas is another landmark of the Strip, and features gorgeous, Italian-inspired architecture. Part of a complex which includes The Palazzo and Sands Expo Centre, the Venetian’s rooms include soaking tubs, whirlpool tubs, free Wi-Fi and even fireplaces.
Acclaimed chefs such as Joe Bastianich, Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse will entertain your taste buds, and prepare you for a full day of shopping, lounging at outdoor pool areas, spa treatments, shows such as Earth, Wind & Fire, nightclubs and of, course, casino games. My personal favourite touch? The artificial canals, complete with gondola rides, add a special touch of wonder and Italian-inspired magic.
- Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore
Resorts World Sentosa bills itself as a “premium lifestyle destination” and is set on a 49-hectare island in all its 5-star glory. The resort-casino is close to the mainland’s VivoCity shopping mall, for when you need to indulge in retail therapy, and is just a 4-minute walk from Universal Studios Singapore.
Accommodation options are available for every type of lifestyle, including family units complete with funky décor and bunk beds, as well as opulent suites that even come complete with a butler service. Refresh yourself on the comfortable beds before going shopping, exploring Universal Studios, and enjoying some spa treatments and outdoor pool areas. A golf course and fitness centre helped us to work off some steam, and the water park and aquarium are great to keep children entertained.
Emma Bengtsson is head chef at Curate, which is just one of the phenomenal dining experiences that await you. Take advantage of special deals such as the Epicurean Journey and the Relax and Rejuvenate packages to get the experience that you want, and don’t forget to fit in a few casino games when you visit.
- Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco
The Casino de Monte-Carlo has the most illustrious history of all of the luxury destinations on my list, having been established in 1863. In addition to high-quality Poker, table games, video poker and slot machines, the complex include 4-star and 5-star accommodation and many other attractions. The jewels in the resort’s entertainment crown are the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo. Michelin-star restaurants offer all types of cuisine, so you’ll have enough energy to soak up all the cultural and winning opportunities that this resort-casino has to offer.
