John Burton Race’s, The New Angel Notting Hill is doing its best to ensure that more than one area of London will be synonymous with the famous week in May, when the prestigious and transcendent Chelsea Flower Show comes into full bloom at this time of year. This year, three AA Rosette awarded restaurant, The New Angel, will present an expertly crafted three course menu, showcasing the absolute best in edible flowers and greenery, paying homage to The Chelsea Flower Show.
The Chelsea Flower Show menu, consisting of three courses and an accompanying glass of Laurent Perrier Cuvée Rosé, showcases John Burton Race’s creativity when it comes to designing menus. The meal begins with a spring inspired starter of hand-dived Orkney scallops, and crab, which will be complemented with luscious green nasturtium leaves and delicate cucumber flowers. It doesn’t get much fresher than this!
Continuing with the fresh and creative theme, the main course offers new season lamb with the sweet and nutty accompaniment of courgette flower. This spring inspired main will again showcase The New Angel’s creativity and dedication to fresh produce making it the perfect reason to visit during The Chelsea Flower Show – it will only complete the experience and make it one to remember. The dining room here alone is a reason to visit, it’s stunning.
The finale of this show-stopping menu is set to compete aesthetically with the gardens on display at Chelsea Flower Show, as the stunning dessert combines stunning reds, whites and flecks of green with a multitude of textures to excite with each mouthful. Rose petals are also carefully placed onto this dish, adding romanticism as well as flavour to this divine and vibrant dessert.
The menu to celebrate The Chelsea Flower Show will be available at The New Angel Notting Hill from 19th May – 23rd May and will be charged at £62 per person.
