York & Albany set to open their fabulous Beach Hut pop-up on May 21st 2015
Set to transport you from London to the sunny coasts of Cornwall, York & Albany’s summer outdoor space is set to be one of the hottest outdoor places to be for this years scorching Summer (hopefully). York & Albany’s former coaching inn courtyard will be transformed into a cool shoreline scene, complete with deck chairs and candy coloured striped huts. Inside they’ll be serving up day-tripper cocktails and seaside favourites on the menu.
The cocktails will have a very strong coastal theme with creations such as the seaweed martini and Bacardi rum slushies – served in mini buckets with spades instead of spoons. If that didn’t tempt you then perhaps the promise of Pimm’s spiked ice-lollies will. Food wise you can expect to see traditional British food, but with a twist. Mini fish ‘n’ chips, Cumberland sausage rolls and mini pots of pickled seafood. For those of you who fancy a little more than a nibble, why not get involved with the Beach BBQ. They’ll be cooking up an array of grilled burgers and veggie kebabs (to name a few). All served with slaw, chips and potato salad.
If the promise of a suntan, too many cocktails and some expertly grilled meat wasn’t enough, then perhaps your sweet tooth simply needs some extra special treatment. For desserts they’ll have some delicious sounding bites such as raspberry custard doughnuts, banana split ice-cream and a DIY ice-cream machine for those looking to have a little fun.
So grab your bucket (sunglasses) & spade (sun tan lotion) and head down to one of summer’s hottest places to be, York & Albany. I’ve already got my sunscreen and short shorts at the ready.
